Writing
For an embarrassingly long time, I didn’t know I was a writer or realize that the vocation I had entered into to meant being a writer professionally.
What I’ve come to realize over the past decade plus is that all that I do comes down to words. Whether spoken, written, or often both.
My writing largely combines the written and spoken word through either ceremonies I officiate or worship services that I lead. Some of my writing appears in other spaces and I hope to continue to expand this aspect of my work.
Practices of Connection

A major focus of thinking and writing outside of congregational life the past few years has been for my Doctorate of Ministry studies.

The topic I am exploring is spiritual practices for non-theists and the religiously unaffiliated. My working label for these are Practices of Connection and the current title of my research is: Navigating the Practiced Life: Drawing a Constellation of Practices for Non-theists.
The other focus of my writing currently is in support of Humanist Chaplains. In collaboration with many others, I’m happy to help develop materials to train Humanist Chaplains in the area of pastoral care and hope to share new publications in this area soon.
